bonus saturday post: a simon stencil for elise (and anyone else who likes simon)

elise (who i met through thingaday) had mentioned that she'd like a "simon in the land of chalk drawings" shirt. so i thought "you know, why not make a stencil so anyone that wants a simon shirt can have one?"

and so it has come to pass.

if you click on the above photo, you'll get the original image. *hopefully* i've resized it correctly to fit on 8.5" x 11" paper. (i suck at resizing. it was always a problem when i was doing editorial cartoons for print. it continues to be a thorn in my side. sadly, math is my enemy.)

anyway, after you've printed it out, you can trace it by placing it under freezer paper or acetate or what have you. cut out the dark areas (xacto works best), place on a shirt (or bag or your stomach) and then stencil ink through! huzzah!

here's a good freezer paper tutorial.

if you make anything with the stencil, i'd love to see it! please leave a link in comments!
