this weekend has been one of the weirdest i have ever lived through.
let's let this picture in all of its oddballness sum things up and i will continue to try and forget about what happened.
denial can be a good thing. drinking half a bottle of gin in less than four hours can be another.

did you get your fill of criterion movies on hulu over the weekend?if not, you've still got part of today to watch some.
so far, i've seen "...and god created woman", "soft skin" and "the fire within". i will probably watch about three more today, well, if i can stop watching brian cox videos on youtube. *sheepish*

we have been without a drip/filter option for about a month and, while i do like the french press and the espresso maker penis pump thing we have, i DESPERATELY missed having a coffee pot with a timer. COFFEE READY WHEN I WAKE UP YES THANK YOU
here's hoping this one doesn't break my heart like punky brewster, the previous coffee maker did. (i cannot recommend zojirushi coffee pots. their rice makers are ACE but that brand of coffee pot broke within three months. scandalous.)

today i had a few of the cadbury mini eggs. they are delicious. and, unlike their american cousins, they are solid chocolate and dyed lovely colors with vegetable dyes.
i'm not exactly sure what makes me happiest, looking at them or eating them.
hah. of course the answer is eating them.

for some reason, i had a picture of some chromosomes in my bag. i asked her to sign the female ones and she very kindly obliged.
don't ask me why i had a picture of chromosomes in my bag but no black pen.

1) the age of miracles-- karen thomas walker
2) marianna-- monica dickens
3) tokyo on foot-- flourent chavouet
4) the dud avocado-- elaine dundy
5) back story-- david mitchell
6) look back in hunger -- jo brand
i can highly recommend the first four, the age of miracles, in particular.
the other two are enjoyable, as you would expect british comedians' autobiographies to be, but they don't really stick with you. in other words, they're great reading for right before drifting off to sleep.
(books not in photograph were either on my kindle or borrowed from the library.)
