I hate Blockbuster too. Over here in the UK they take great pride in telling us how many copies of the new releases they stock, but they do that at the expensive of all the cool older movies or more obscure stuff. You know, the stuff I'd expect to find at a video store - then you can't move for the bins selling off their old stock - which amounts to pushing second hand goods at near to (and sometimes *more* than) retail shop prices. Then they wonder why they're aren't doing too well.
i'll never understand why having 75 copies of "the day after tomorrow" or whatever is a good thing.
before switching to netflix, i used to frequent an indie video rental that has lots of older and more obscure titles. one whole section devoted to russ myer! the whole store organized by director!
but, you know, netflix delivers. and i have late fees at the other place.....
