it looks like hideaki sekiguch or billy or bass wolf from guitar wolf died last night from a heart attack. he was only 38!
it's so sad! he was such a great bassist!

Ahhhh crap, to think the Pope hogs all the news. Saw them once in Kawasaki opening for the Blues Explosion. Magnificently noisy buggers in a night of big noise and chucking the mike stand into the crowd was all class. Vale.
yeah, media hogging pope! pbbbbt!!
i saw them at the last place on earth (now defunct bar) in memphis in, i think, 1999/2000?
there were only six of us in the crowd and the wolf still cranked it up! it was one of the best shows i've ever seen!
i meant to catch them a few weeks ago at the deli (another memphis club) but i didn't get to. now i really regret not going.
Only 6?! What the hell is going on over there?
it's memphis.
everyone thinks that it's this huge music town, but it's really not.
most people bypass the city all together when they're on tour.
the really sad thing is that guitar wolf kind of adopted memphis as a second home. they were even in a local movie playing themselves.
don't get me wrong, they did have larger crowds the last few times they played here. i just happened to catch them on the tour for "jet generation" and not many people in memphistown had heard of them at that point.
jet"toh" generation : )
Perth we tend to jump at gigd like hungry, erm, wolves then we stand around and look confused.
They were also in a Japanese movie that was quite spectatcular (saved the world with guitars - take that Ramomes) but I can't remember its name , hmm that's not much use is it?
I think they're responsible for my pod headphones shitting themselves by insisiting on making the loudest album ever recorded.
laughing at the mental picture of pod headphones shitting themselves!
was the movie called "wild zero" by any chance?? (i haven't seen it yet but i just bumped it up in my netflix queue.)
i think i'll be ravenous on the club scene again once i move! HAHAHA!! memphis' music scene is just....well, trying to hard to be cooler than thou, if that makes any sense.
