wake and bake

today is an experimental baking day. first thing this morning, i began trying to create a spherical cake. (you'll have to wait for a week or so for me to show you why. but i think it'll be worth the wait!)

i mixed up a batch of this recipe, subbing 3 large eggs and 1 yolk to make it a yellow cake. then i poured the mixture into my green pyrex bowl. the idea being that i can make a sphere with two halves glued together by jam or icing or what have you.

it's baking right now as i type. i'll only be able to make half a sphere this morning since i'm all out of eggs, sugar and milk. (leff took the car, otherwise, i'd be speeding down to the grocery store right now instead of writing.)

look! here it is getting all nice and golden brown!
