cranes and books

last night i made 42 more cranes. since pip wanted to see what they looked like all together, here's a group photo of all 142 plus one cat.

i'm out of origami paper now. looks like there's a trip to daiso in my future.

in exciting book news, north light books is making a schmancy plush you book! how cool is that?!

(original here)

i can't wait for the new show this fall!

For a while I was really into origami. My mother-in-law got me a page-a-day calendar where each page was 4x4 inches, and as you tore off one day, the instructions on how to fold a new shape were on the day below it, so you could use that day's page to make something new.

It got old after a while.

There are some really cool origami necklaces on Etsy, but my favorite thing are origami stars.

oh my god! i'm sure you were much better at origami than i'll ever be!

i'm still nervous about branching out past the crane. but that's probably because it took me 30 odd years to learn how to make one! ;D
