cap hill, chipboard, golden gardens, etc

one thing to know about sundays in seattle: the karaoke pizza place in cap hill is closed during the day. (if i'd thought about it, i'd've realized that karaoke pizza and daylight could never mix. it would cause a rip in the space-time continuum. or something.)

another thing that's helpful to remember? all places that serve brunchy foods will be packed to the gills.

bills off broadway, however, will be empty. as in, leff, j, a part of christo's gates

and i were the only three people and swatch of orange fabric in the dining area.

i'm sure that leff will write about the pizza on his foodie blog. i'll just say that j and i spent a considerable amount of time performing surgery on our slices to remove unwanted items like sun dried tomatoes. (i hear you, crystl and shed! but you'll never convince me that they don't taste like what i imagine leeches to taste like. bleah!)

another thing? value village makes me cry. like, literally. i'm allergic to something in the building. so while i was combing through stacks o'cookbooks looking for gems such as these

i was openly weeping.

and, hey, doesn't that top cookbook look like it's called philadelphia brand cream cheese cockbook?! hahah!

one nice thing that doesn't make me cry which is also open on sundays is utrecht. they have pink sharpies!

and a cutter so j, leff and i could cut down humungo pieces of chipboard

while some strange lady that didn't understand what matt boards are for hovered over us thinking that she needed to cut something. (we offered her the use of the cutter since we were taking so long but i guess she expected us to cut her board for her. to which i say, um, no. no fucking way. that's not the way it works.)

anywho, chipboard is exhausting. so j bought us coffee at bauhaus which we took to the beach.

i walked around in bare feet because once it's march, i push the weather. i don't care if it's only 50 degrees (10 in c), march = bare minimum of footwear. i mean, daylight savings started yesterday, for fuck's sake. it's supposed to be warm and sunny already!!

we also stopped by fred meyer on the way home but, alas, still no wii. j got some cat food though, for what it's worth. i'm sure stardust was happy about that.

right. time to end this thing. i don't really know what i'm doing today besides calling the kat and wishing her a happy birthday. but i know that i'll be wearing shorts while i do it!
