the odds and ends post

today's gonna' be a triple post day, i can feel it. not that i ever have enough stuff to warrant three entries but, well, i rather enjoy typing. see?

the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.

wow, that was fun for the both of us, i'm sure.

*sounds of crickets*

(an edit: josh is right. i missed a letter. it's supposed to be "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.". i regret any inconvenience this may have caused you or members of your family. haha!)

today we get our first shipment from spud. josh had heard good things from others who had used it so it seemed like a good idea to go ahead and place a standing order. i'll write more about the service later this afternoon.

my favorite food blog of the moment is cooking cute. (i wish that i could remember how i stumbled across it.) the first bento of hers that i saw was this totoro:

(original here)

should i profess my love of both bento and totoro again? nah, i didn't think i'd need to.

etsy's new contest has been announced! this time they're partnering with craft magazine. in a nutshell, etsyers are encouraged to utilize the craft logo in any craft project that they would like. then those projects have to be tagged "etsycraft" and made available for sale on etsy by august 21st. the winners get a write up in the inaugural issue of craft, features on both craft and etsy's sites and a free subscription to craft. so, if you have an etsy shop, i'd encourage you to participate. it should be a lot of fun. official rules.

and now a question for seattle people. did you see those weird clouds over ballard yesterday? they were really dark and dirty and kind of looked like smoke from a fire only way more substantial. i haven't been able to find any mention of them anywhere.

speaking of ballard, here's a poster from sunday.

and that's all she wrote (for now anyway). well, except to mention that i have four vox invites. if you'd like one, let me know in comments below and i'll send them out either late today or tomorrow.
